Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and highly motivated Tax Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on tax matters, preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax research, and advising clients on tax minimization strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tax advisory services to clients in various industries, including preparation and review of tax returns and reports.
- Reviewing SARS assessments, managing department billing, completing individual tax returns
- Handling SARS queries and submissions
- EMP 501 reconciliations
- VAT submissions
- Provisional tax
- Assist clients in dealing with SARS (South African Revenue Service) and other relevant bodies on tax-related matters.
- Conduct tax research to stay updated on changes in tax law and advise clients accordingly.
- Collaborate with a team of accountants and auditors to ensure all financial data is accurate for tax reporting purposes.
- Present detailed and summarized findings of tax audits, including written explanations of discrepancies and recommendations for corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Tax diploma and at least four years of experience in tax consulting, preferably in an accounting or auditing firm.
- Strong understanding of South African tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, excellent attention to detail.
Salary range:
R25,000 to R28,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
