We’re seeking an Immediately available Fund Accountant – Contract: 2 Months (possibility of extension) – Claremont (Cape Town)

Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing various accounting and risk & performance reports for institutional investor clients.
- Senior resource to perform day-to-day work while senior team members are working on project work.
- Preparing and reviewing reconciliations
- Liaison with auditors
- Assist other team members with queries
- Support team leader
- Fund Accounting and Reporting Team Members
- Internal teams such as Administration, Client Servicing, Trade Rebalancing and Portfolio Management Team.
- Systems Development Team and external systems development companies.
- External parties such as Asset Managers, External Auditors and Employee Benefit Administrators
- Prepare and/or review deliverables before sending out to clients, including:
- Daily reconciliation of investment accounting records to different sources
- Monthly reconciliation of unitisation data to asset manager data • Monthly client performance reporting
- Fund Fact Sheets
- Quarterly Regulatory reporting (eg. SARB Asset Allocation Reports)
- Quarterly Total Investment Costs (TIC) calculations
- Annual audit packs
- Assist with resolving queries and escalations related to activities performed by the Fund Accounting and Reporting team.
- Attend client meetings and meetings with auditors, when appropriate, to address queries related to the deliverables produced by the Fund Accounting and Reporting Team.
- Assist in preparing other ad hoc queries / reports.
- Assist with producing documentation of processes and procedures for the Fund Accounting and Reporting team.
- Work closely with and assist other team members in the Fund Accounting and Reporting team.
- Contribute to the shared knowledge of the team by attending training and sharing insights with team members.
- Contribute to internal improvement initiatives in own team and within the Invest department to ensure continuous business improvement.
- Perform user acceptance testing of enhancements and change requests on systems and applications used by the team as required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BCom Accounting Degree
- Auditing experience during Articles/Internship
- Experience of auditing retirement funds would be advantageous
- Must be credit clearMust be Crimial clearMust x2 available working references
