Introduction
Our client, a leading sports nutrition company based in Randburg is looking for a QC R&D Technologist (Health Supplements / Nutrition).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
- Provide feedback to customers, record, and file customer complaints.
- Compile trends of customer complaints.
- Investigate non-conformances of stock and raw materials.
- Compilation of product specifications for all products for warehouse.
- Ensuring incoming and outgoing stock matches product specifications.
- Record keeping of product specifications of raw materials and packaging.
- Applications and record keeping of Halaal and Kosher certifications.
- Managing microbial and shelf-life testing through 3rd party accredited laboratories.
- Assisting with food safety audits of 3rd party manufacturers (FSSC 22000, GFSI, GMP).
- Internal food safety audits of warehouse (GFSI and FSSC).
- Assist with customer queries (advice on products).
- Review product labels according to R146 Labelling Regulations and SAHPRA guidelines on Complementary Medicines (CAMS).

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Preferred qualifications: Food Science (BSc), Food & Nutrition Science (BSc), or Consumer Sciences (BSc).
- 3-4 Years experience with an interest in health supplements, complementary medicines, and nutrition. Experience with health products and supplements is beneficial. Knowledge of pharmaceutical guidelines of Category D.
- Industry: sports nutrition supplements (protein powders, amino acids, pre-workouts, bars, energy drinks), FMCG products, complementary medicines (Category D).
