Requirements
The following are the minimum entry requirements for the programme:
- Grade12/Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science and English (all with minimum 40% pass),

- N2 or higher with all subjects as per the specific Discipline requirements below:
- Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory or Mechanotechnology or Mechanotechnics, Engineering Drawings, Mathematics and Engineering Science. NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.
- Boilermaker: Plating & Structural Steelwork or Welders Theory, Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings, Mathematics and Engineering Science. NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.
- Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory or Electrotechnology or Electrotechnics, Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings, Mathematics and Engineering Science. NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.
- Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory or Industrial Instrument, Industrial Electronics, Mathematics and Engineering Science. NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.
- Millwright: Electrical Trade Theory or Electrotechnology or Electrotechnics, Fitting Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings, Mathematics and Engineering Science.
- Welder: Plating & Structural Steelwork/ Welders Theory and Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings, Mathematics and Engineering Science. NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.
